"5 Star Everything!"
My Wife booked Backmarch House for a 3 night trip over the easter weekend for us and our two boys (5yrs and 2yrs). The house and grounds are exceptional and the room (number three) was a great size to accommodate all four of us with a great size bed for my Wife and I, a single for the eldest and we had a travel cot for the 2 yr old. With all of this in the room the kids still had space to play and we never felt the least bit cramped. The room and house were spotlessly clean and everything was perfectly presented. with all that, you wouldn't think it could get better but it did....
Scott and Ray are wonderful hosts, extremely friendly and made us feel like we were staying at a friends house, a real home from home. Ray prides herself on cleanliness and it shows, Scott makes sure a great breakfast is always available and as a team nothing is too much trouble. An example of that was shown when we got a text whilst out on our first night asking if there was any favourite breakfast things the kids liked as they were out shopping! They left the kids little easter treats on the breakfast table and provided a microwave and fridge for the little ones milk.
I would go as far as to say that although I have stayed in a number of 5* properties before I would choose Backmarch house before any of them!
Wonderful House, Wonderful Room, Wonderful Hosts and we will definitely be back to see the soon.
Room Tip: Room three is a great family room.
"As good as Gleneagles"
I have been lucky enough to have stayed a few times at Gleneagles and I can say, hand on heart, that my experience staying in Backmarch House was every bit as comfortable and relaxing.
I urgently needed a place to stay close to family in Rosyth and came across this B&B via google. Living nearby I decided to visit before I booked. I received a warm welcome from Scott and once I saw how spotlesslessly clean the house was and how warm and inviting it looked I decided to spend 5 nights in room 4. It's a large house decorated in Farrow & Ball colours and smells lovely as you enter. My room was extremely comfortable. The carpets are thick underfoot, the bed is comfy and the en-suite is elegantly tiled with pristine white sanitary ware. There is abundant storage from the walk in wardrobe and ample drawers. There is a wall mounted TV with freeview and the usual tea/coffee facilities and complimentary shortbread are replenished daily. A radio alarm clock with a docking station was a bonus as was the free wi-fi. As I was alone I kept the place tidy but each day my room/en-suite was cleaned and fresh thick, fluffy towels were provided. I cannot comment on breakfast as I was on a room only basis however on Sunday morning Ray and Scott left a fresh café tier of coffee outside my door on a tray with fresh milk etc. and it was delightful. Little touches like that and the glossy magazine left for me to read on my first night were so appreciated. If you want somewhere where you will feel safe and comfortable, and where your privacy will be respected yet you know Ray and Scott are there if needed then book now. I should imagine in warmer weather it will be glorious sitting in the big enclosed garden. A friend visited me whilst I was staying and she was so impressed with the place that she suggested we have our next girls trip there and we live quite close!!! A huge thank you to Ray and Scott, you create such a lovely atmosphere that it is easy not to want to move in permanently :)
